Beginning Sunday, September 18 at 6:00 p.m., our evening communion service will take place in the sanctuary on the third Sunday of every month, and will combine the beauty of the sanctuary with the instrumentation of the fellowship hall.
Our pastoral staff will preach a series through 2 Timothy, and we will celebrate communion in a manner similar to our Maundy Thursday service during Holy Week. Nursery will be provided.
We encourage everyone to attend, including small groups that meet on Sunday nights, that we might enjoy the unifying and nourishing power of the Lord’s Supper together.
Stand Firm: a Study in 2 Timothy.
2 Timothy is the Apostle Paul’s last letter – the last words of a spiritual father to his son in the faith, Timothy. Paul writes from a Roman prison cell and anticipates his imminent death. In this intimate letter to a close friend and coworker, Paul emphasizes what he wants Timothy to heed for the rest of his life and ministry. His message can be summed up in two words: stand firm. Paul encourages Timothy to hold on to the gospel in the midst of persecution, false teaching, and all the challenges of following Jesus in a broken world.
