Grace Investigation

On January 5, 2021, the LMPC Session approved an affirmative response to GRACE’s recommendation #6 to make the executive summary of the report publicly available online. The GRACE executive summary report for LMPC was posted online for 18 days from January 8 through January 25, 2021.

On January 25, the LMPC Session approved an affirmative response to a new GRACE recommendation that the executive summary be removed from our website at a survivor’s request.

On Friday January 29, we learned that GRACE had concerns about whether a survivor consented in writing to the publication of his witness testimony.

GRACE, having determined that they did not receive written consent from one survivor, issued a final redacted report on February 19, 2021.

Please note this correction to the report on page 37:
“When Pastor 1 learned of the possible abuse in 2019, he formed a committee, spoke with past pastors and elders, and followed up with potential victims. LMPC sent information to Paul’s current Presbytery (who had jurisdiction over Paul) church to let the Presbytery leadership know of the reports of abuse, and gave them a letter with the allegations of reported child sexual abuse. LMPC also hired GRACE to conduct an independent investigation into the matter as Pastor 1 acknowledged that LMPC leadership was not in a position to conduct an internal investigation of the matter.”
