When you check your child into the nursery, you will be given a pager. We ask that you set the tone for your child to trust the caregivers and teachers by allowing the teacher to welcome him or her. Warmly express your goodbye and leave. The teacher will page you should your child need you.
It is also helpful for you to pick your child up on time. It can be upsetting to be the last child in the classroom.
Please label diaper bags, bottles, cups, blankets, and sweaters. If your child brings a special security item, try to let a classroom helper know so that we can help it go home with you.
During most nursery functions, goldfish or graham crackers and water are served.
To ensure the safety of your nursery age child, we provide you with a pager. If your child is unhappy for an extended period or becomes sick or injured while in the nursery, we will page you promptly. It also helps us keep track of who is coming and going in the nursery department. We ask that an adult drop off and pick up all children in the nursery.
All regular classroom workers and Sunday school teachers in the nursery have completed a screening process in accordance with the Child Protection Policy of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Obvious signs of illness may occur after your child arrives in the nursery. If your child shows symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, colored runny nose, eye discharge, an unexplained rash, or is simply not acting like him or herself, we may page you to assess whether your child needs to go home.
Children must be free of fever for 24 hours before participating in nursery activities.
If your child has an allergy, or another medical condition of which we should be aware, we ask that you please notify us so that we can take proper precautions.
