Jonah is not primarily a book about being swallowed by a huge fish. Rather, it is primarily about being aligned with God’s compassion for all nations. When our hearts are not aligned with God’s heart for the world, we too will run from his call and rage at his mercy. In preparation for our World Missions Conference in March where we will hear how God is reaching the nations in the United Kingdom, we anticipate that our study of Jonah will lead us to all to examine our priorities and to align our passions with God’s compassion for the nations.
