Pastor of Mission & Worship
Wil came to LMPC as the Pastor of Outreach in 2021, having previously served as the Reformed University Fellowship Campus Minister at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas from 2017-2021. He grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi and received his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Mississippi. He served as an RUF intern at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, when he met his now-wife, Mary, who was serving as an RUF intern at the College of William and Mary. He received his Master of Divinity in 2017 from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss., and was ordained in the PCA in 2018. Wil and Mary have two children: Cooper (born 2018) and Story (born 2020).
Formative experiences have included his time in RUF as a student at Ole Miss, where God opened his eyes to the wonders of his saving grace; his summers as a counselor at Alpine Camp for Boys; serving as an RUF intern at UNC; marrying Mary; and the birth of their children.
Influential voices in Wil’s life include RUF campus ministers Les Newsom and Daniel Mason; former Redeemer San Antonio pastor and current Covenant Seminary president Tom Gibbs; and author-pastors Sinclair Ferguson, Tim Keller, Eugene Peterson, and Pete Scazzero. Wil’s favorite books include 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez; Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes; A Light in August by William Faulkner; Fathered by God by John Eldredge; Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Pete Scazzero; The Contemplative Pastor by Eugene Peterson; and Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller.
In his spare time, Wil enjoys grilling out, watching Ole Miss sports, and trying to find a hobby that he can stick with. He is currently trying golf, fly fishing, and running, but is always open to suggestions for new ones!
